Scotties Defeat N.C. Wesleyan At Home

After dropping a game to Methodist on Saturday, the Agnes Scott lacrosse team responded by defeating N.C. Wesleyan, 13-6 on Sunday at Decatur High School. The victory evened the Scotties record at 3-3, including a 3-1 home record.

In the first half, N.C. Wesleyan held a 2-0 lead after almost 25 minutes of play. The Scottie sticks awoke and Agnes Scott responded with three straight goals, taking a 3-2 lead. N.C. Wesleyan added one more goal in the period, sending the two teams into halftime, tied at 3-3.

Agnes Scott then took a commanding 8-3 lead, scoring five straight goals to start the second period. Clarissa Boggs-Blake scored three goals in that span and led all scorers for the game with six goals and one assist.

The two teams traded goals the rest of the game, with Agnes Scott able to extend their lead to as many as eight. Goalkeeper, Mia Jacintho recorded 16 saves on the game.

Agnes Scott returns to action on Saturday, March 20, as they travel to Sewanee to face Trine University. First face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
